There is no better time to begin a new journey toward a more positive path for yourself – one that’s filled with growth, connection, acceptance, and empowerment. The wisdom is inside of you.
Like art, the healing process is imperfect. In order to create a work of art we often have to keep coming back and examining it from a different perspective. Our self-work can be the same way! We frequently have things holding us back from living the way we want. As your therapist, I will be with you in your journey to help you move past those stuck places in your life.
I believe that the past wounds we try to ignore or bury can often be our greatest teachers if we are willing to listen. I would love to help you learn from your past and move forward to live the life you desire.
I am a practicing psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples and families to make their broken pieces into works of art. Therapy can be used as a powerful tool to make meaning out of pain and clear a way for the all the many blessings life has to offer. You do not have to wait any longer to experience freedom and restoration inside yourself, your life and your relationships.
I am looking forward to meeting you soon and supporting you. You are so brave! Before we connect here is more information about me, my therapeutic approach and professional background.
My name is Eliza Monteverdi. I was raised in Thousand Oaks, California. I moved away in 2013 and attended Azusa Pacific University to receive my Bachelors and Masters. I studied psychology and had the opportunity to study abroad in South Africa where I worked with victims of trauma and multicultural issues. I feel very privileged to have my experiences and education. I have since returned to the Conejo Valley after being recently married. I am working in private practice in Thousand Oaks and accepting clients in the surrounding areas.
In my free time I like to spend time with my husband, family and friends. After a long day, I unwind by cooking and enjoying time outdoors. I also love hiking and doing yoga. Yoga has taught me to take up space on my mat and show up for myself. I am excited to hear how you spend your free time!
I believe progress in therapy is highly dependent on the client’s ability to form a personal relationship with the therapist. I focus on providing a nonjudgmental, empathetic, and understanding environment. I utilize a client-centered approach where I encourage you to freely express what is affecting you as we work together to find meaning and understand your emotions in a deeper, more refined way.
My professional background includes both training and experience. Most recently I worked in a counseling center called La Vie Center. It is a non-profit Christian counseling center that provides training for students and offers low fee services to the community. At the facility, I worked with diverse issues including domestic violence, betrayal trauma, mother-daughter conflict, grief and loss, spiritual identity and anxiety. I was trained in the psychodynamic psychotherapy model. This model involves sinking deeper to address the root of the problem rather than recommending that the client thinks differently or changes their behavior. My role is to help bring what is unconscious or unseen into light to equip you to live a more fulfilling life.
